This fantactic new map shows the routes that the historical mariners of Australia’s early maritime contact history took as they sailed through Bass Strait. Cook , Baudin, Flinders your name them… The map took 6 years to compile by Greg Eccleston. It was started as a project under the “Australia on the Map 1606-2006″ national commemmorations of 400 years of European contact with Australia and was an initiative of its Victorian Steering Committee. A 2 metre wide hard copy of the map is available for $45 from http://www.bookshop.vic.gov.au
